Chicago, Autumn 2006: The Arrival
You welcomed me with your cold embrace
Showered me with leaves, like confitti, from your trees.
Their subdued colors doubled my sadness
“solitude” oil on canvas, 24×30 by Jeques B. Jamora, 2009

I arrived in Chicago, autumn 2006. Images from home haunted me since. Lost and cold in the windy city, I went back creating dots, connecting them with lines in hued palettes as they frequent my reveries like a child tracing tracks to his way home, laid on canvas.

jeques,
this painting is apt for me, you capture the feeling of solitude in this magnificent work. the blue background and white feathery clouds and the velvety grass. the autumn leaves and a faraway bench has meanings that only a quiet soul can decode. such peace of mind. and a safe place- a sanctuary.
best of times,
marvin
